Question: My son is one year old. Two months ago (21 feb 2016)he had high fever and seizure(first time).we rushed into the hospital . Dr told us to take urine and blood sample . In blood report ESR was 79 and total wbc count was 20000. Then took x ray.dr told us that he had bronco pneumonia. He got hospitalised for 5 days and took antibiotics injections.we got urine culture report also.it shown that he had mild urinary infection also.

At the time of discharge Dr told us that he had a chance for getting urinary infection easily. So that he have to take cefixime antibiotic (secef 100mg) 2ml once daily for 2 months.now he is taking this and a probiotic vinzylac. Two weeks after discharge took blood sample again.in this all values are normal (ESR 13 and TC 10200).

He had a sound while breathing. This was there since birth time.Dr told that this will go gradually within one year.now it is very less .
He had vomiting tendancy also.while vomiiting food items comes through nose also.

Yesterday we took blood sample. Just to check. In this report ESR is 20 and TC 13600.is there any problem ? Have to met Dr quickly? He have no problem. He is active.his Dr is not here now.what to do? Anything to worry?

Brief Answer:
Reports are within acceptable limits.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I understand that your child suffered from bronchopneumonia and had been treated with antibiotics. I am not sure what made the doctor anticipate the possibility of urinary tract infection but hope that he must have had proper reasons for the same.

If your child has a noisy respiration the sound is either inspiratory (while taking in the air) or expiratory (while giving out the air). If it is expiratory, he needs to be given inhalers (bronchodilators like asthalin). If it is inspiratory, it is probably due to weak cartilaginous rings that are collapsing the airway. Not much can be done other than to wait for the body to strengthen it over time. In either case, steam inhalation should help and should be given.

The blood reports are normal and not a cause for concern. I do not see the requirement to see a doctor unless for some specific problems. No need to worry.

Regards
