What Do My Lab Test Results Indicate?
Question: Hello Dr. XXXXXXX
My wife has quadruple test and the result was positive for trisomy 21, down syndrome. So, we have opted for amniocentesis along with FISH test. Yesterday we got the result of FISH test which was negative. So, can we take this as confirmation and proceed with having the baby or do we have to wait for the complete amniocentesis result? She is now in 19th week and it will take 3 more weeks for the result to come so I am worried if we decide to drop can that be done in 22nd week?
Please advice.
Thank You.
Best Regards,
XXXXX
