What Do Occasional Episodes Of Blood In Urine Indicate?
Are the clots are the beginning, end or entire urine stream?
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am so sorry to hear about the presence of blood in your urine. A few more questions will help us narrow down the possible causes.
1. Is blood at the beginning, at the end or through out the entire urine stream?
2. Do you have any abdominal pains?
Blood in urine could originate from the kidneys, urinary passages(ureters and urethra) or bladder. At what stage during urination this is noted is helpful in making the difference. Most common causes are infections of the kidney and bladder, stones in the urinary passages and trauma. For now, drink much water and provide response to the above questions. They will help me narrow down the possible causes and provide more specific information on the potential causes.
We may need to complete our clinical evaluation with imaging studies or urine analysis.
I hope to hear back from you. Until next, I wish you well.
No I do not have any abdominal pain.
Please, get urinalysis and bladder evaluation!

Hi,
Blood in the entire urine stream comes from the ureters and the kidneys. I will suggest that you start with a simple urine exam to look for possible infection. This should be completed with an abdominal ultrasound to look for possible kidney stones/kidney disease.
Please, kindly let me know what the findings of these exams are.
