What Do Recurrent Fainting Spells In A Person With PD Indicate?
Question: Yes, I have PD, but am in excellent physical condition. Just finished a 5K run / walk. Play golf twice a week and attend Rock Steady boxing twice a week. Do engineering consulting. However when I go from a brisk walk to a jog, I am hit with fainting spells. Have to sit or kneel for a few seconds befote proceeding. Have not yet ever fallen.
Could this be side effect of Sinimart ( take 5 or 6 per day) or jus t a Parkinson problem. I also tahe two cogentins per day and one Azilect

I read your question carefully and I congratulate you about the active lifestyle that you maintain despite your age and PD.
The fainting you describe can be a symptom both of Sinemet treatment as well as PD itself. However in PD it is usually in the advanced, not the early stages. Given how active you describe yourself to be I believe you are at early stages still, so am more inclined to dedicate it to Sinemet side effects. Rasagiline (Azilect) can have that as a rare side effect as well.
So the first measure I would try is to increase caffeine, salt and water intake and to try and make the passage from walking to jogging as gradual as possible. Next step is to try to reduce dosage a little. If that doesn't work or is not enough to control PD symptoms then if really important to you medication like fludrocortisone, however they can have their share of side effects as well so wouldn't really encourage it unless episodes interfere even more with your daily life.
