What Do Red Bumps On The Labia Majora Indicate?

Posted on Wed, 17 May 2017
Question: For almost 2 months now, I have had a red bump on my labia majora (near wear my underline is). It doesnt itch or hurt. Its very small, smaller than a pea and has not grown it size, it just wont go away. It looks like a pimple, but when I squeezed it only a little blood came out. At first I thought a cyst or hair from shaving but wont go away. No other symptoms and I know its not an std. I have an appt. with my gyno in 3 weeks. Im scared of vulva cancer! Any ideas /concerns?

Brief Answer:
Resepcted XXXX, hi its absolutely benign condition,no vulval cancer at all

Detailed Answer:
Respected XXXX, hi I evaluated your query thoroughly.
*As per your narrations, Clinical Differential Diagnosis include
(a) Mole (b) Sebaceous cyst (c) developing Bartholin cyst
*All of them are absolutely benign conditions, so just relieve yourself from the
threat of vulva cancer.
*For Diagnostic point of view you can have Ultrasound of the local part to get
all the details.
*As there is no pain you don`t require painkillers also.
*Take necessary care till you see your Gynecologist :
- avoid injuring it through shaving or other means.
- avoid compression over it through tight fitting undergarments.
- don`t compress it much / try to squeeze harshly else you may end up in
infections inadverently.
- keep the genitals clean & dry.
- avoid tight jeans also.
- wear loose , cotton ,clean underwears.
- assess any increase in size / pain / more redenning / temperature change of
overlying skin / fever .
- take due cares during sexual intercourse ( if engaged ).
@Hope this clears your query.
@Would like to assist for any further queries for the same from your side( if
possible & if you desire with specific photograph of the lesion only ) to make
things more precise & sound ; else I will be answering on only narrations also
till my best knowledge.

Brief Answer:
skin sore absolutely benign at present.

Detailed Answer:
Respected XXXX, hi
I gone through the photograph of your lesion .
*This is confirmed case of Skin sore involving most inner part of upper thigh
( not labia majora ) following any condition like dermatitis caused by allergies
or irritants ; unknown trauma through razor type material causing
subcutaneous indentation appearing raised on skin
*This is absolutely benign at present not cancerous .
*Relax, at convenience you should meet Gynecologist as per appointment , no
hurries at all.
*No medicines for it , Surgical excision under Local Anesthesia is mandatory
followed by biopsy of it for final pathological confirmation .( procedure is day
care, no need to hospitalize , taking around 15-20 minutes )
Hope this makes things more clear to you.
Welcome for any further queries or you can rate the answer accordingly & close the discussion.

Its not on my thigh, it just looks like that in pic because I pulled back my underwear for photo. I sent another pic. Do you think the same now that you know its on the labia majora?

Brief Answer:
Ok, please see the details herewith.

Detailed Answer:

Ok XXXX, if it was the case like that, we can consider it as outer lateral part of Labia lying in between the exact portion of Labia majora & fold of Inner thigh merging with it.

Still, the diagnosis remains same & management would also remain same as per previous narrations.

Regards.
