What Do Shrinking Of Breasts And Irregular Periods After Taking Depo- Provera Shots Indicate?
Question: Ive always had regular periods and good health until recieving 2 injections of depo provera birth control. The first 3 months on depo I had no period at all. The last 3 months (march-june) I bled the entire time (which was definately not a period but some extreme side effect). Also within a month my breast size decreased dramatically. I was a 32dd and now I am significantly smaller. My breasts feel empty and shriveled. Im very worried and depressed. My doctor is not concearned. I did not go back for my last scehduled injection as i am discontinuing depo. It has been a month now since then and my breasts are still severely deflated. My period hasnt come back as yet either. Why did my breasts shrink? Will they return to their previous size? What should I do to help my body get back to normal?

So all you need right now is to wait for your next menstrual cycle and then everything will be set to normal eventually.
It can take around 6-8 months for ovulation to resume after discontinuation of depo injections and thus that will be the time when you will see gradual restoration of your Normal breast contour and size.
I know you are disheartened but hormones are tricky many a times and all you can do is to keep patience now.
