How Long Does A Contraceptive Injection Take To Work?

Hello I have question regarding contraceptive injection , if my period started on 12 of this month and I took my first injection on 17th and it was my last day of period , will injection work immediately or it will take 7 days now before it will start to work?

Hello,

You took the depo injection on day 6 of your cycle in this case so you need an additional 7 days of using condoms before it starts to work as a method of contraception. It only works immediately when used within the first 5 days of periods.
