Brief Answer:
FNAC or Biopsy to confirm the diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query an an elucidate history.

You have 4 lymph nods in the groin- painless and 2 are for 5 months- CT scan -Recurrent BV under treatment- blood tests are normal - no bumps.

I would just like to confirm the findings of CT scan.

The simplest test of FNAC ( fine needle aspiration cytology) would have given the exact diagnosis and may be an excision biopsy needed if the FNAC is not conclusive. 5 months is a long time for the nodes to persist.

Sore-throat and fever will settle with symptomatic treatment may be with an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines if your Doctor thinks about giving.

I hope this answer helps to go in proper direction for diagnosis, which is the most important for any problem. Please feel free to ask for more if need be.

Wishing you a good recovery from all the problems.

They said the CT scan was negative. I don't know what that means. I was checked today by the doctor and she said I think was small. but I don't know why they won't get smaller. I will be getting a biopsy in two weeks.

Biopsy gives confirmatory diagnosis.

CT scan has its limits. You may please post the report of CT scan attached to this query and inform me. You can use the site's uploader to upload it.
It is good that Your Doctor said the nodes are small.

Yes, the biopsy will give a definite diagnosis and is the best diagnostic tool. Please give the feedback about the report.

Brief Answer:
Biopsy will confirm

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
The biopsy will confirm whether this is a cyst or so and also will give the final diagnosis.
The nodes are not felt irrespective of the weight of the person.
Let us see what the result of the biopsy be.

thank you I'm I use scared because they have been the same for so long I haven't been really sick until now. I'm also tired of taking the medicine for bv. it's seem to temporarily cure the problem. and then it come back. do you think that bv may have caused me to get PID
doctor
Answered by Dr. T Chandrakant (6 hours later)
Brief Answer:
This is curable

Detailed Answer:
Do not be scared. This is not going to be a serious problem.

BV can cause PID as these parts are interconnected. Infection can be transferred from Vagina to the uterus to the pelvic cavity via Fallopian Tubes.

BV can also cause enlargement of the nodes in the inguinal area as one tends to scratch the outer part. It involves the horizontal group. You can see or palpate that the nodes must be in line if the skin crease.

Proper Investigations and treatment of both ( you and your sex partner- if you have one ) can definitely lead to cure. This is the most important part of the treatment. I hope your blood sugar is negative and blood and urine investigations are normal.

Please do not be worried ; try your best to persuade your Doctor to have detailed examination, investigations and follow the treatment schedule strictly. You will be disease-free. It does take a bit long in some cases. I am sure your and your partners personal hygiene must have been well maintained.

I hope this helps you to get better idea. Please feel free to share / ask more if you need to.
Have a great day.

I don't have any sex partners at the moment. but when I do have sex I use protection. I haven't had unprotected sex in 10 months. I'm highly allergic to latex. I just finished a dose of metronidazole two days ago and still see a lil yellow disharge. I figured the medicine is still doing its job. I took a cbc blood test it was normal so Idk what's going on. the doctors keep saying the lymph.nodes are superficial not to worry about it but it's been 5 months.

Brief Answer:
Internal examination/ ultrasonography

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Sorry for late.
Thanks for your feedback. Allergy to latex indicates that you have some sort of allergy, the skin of the area is sensitive and that may be one of the reasons not allowing complete recovery and hence yellow discharge in spite of Metronidazole.
The same problem also gives enlarged lymph nodes in the inguinal area.
Once the discharge problem is solved the lymph nodes may regress automatically as the treatment of the original problem will solve the lymph node issues.

I hope you have been examined internally by the Gynecologist to see whether there is any problem like cervicitis / vaginitis or so. What are the reports of ultrasonography?
You may need further treatment with an antibiotic. Please ask for probiotic and multivitamins too as they help in better healing.

I've been examined by many doctors. but they all say it's superficial and I have bv. my pap smear was normal. I did not get a get any other test done for the lymph nodes other then a CT scan that was negative. the gynecologist always say it's acute vaginitis.

Brief Answer:
Discuss with your Gynecologist further

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.

It is good that Pap Smear is normal and you have been examined by many.

Metronidazole is a drug of choice , and have already taken it.

Addition of probiotics (in the form of capsules and one gets in curd) help in BV. Please discuss with your doctor about Povidone Iodine Pessaries which can be inserted into vagina at night ( they are discontinued in some countries) and other medicines which can be tried.. You have to be a bit careful as you are allergic to latex.
Cleaning the private parts with plain water 2 to 4 times a day, exposing to air when at home, no tight undergarments / clothing helps in recovery.

I can understand the problem you are going through.
Please do not bother about lymph nodes which have not grown over many months and we have a reason ( BV ) as its cause.
FNAC / biopsy is already planned as you had mentioned and will give a diagnosis.
