What Do The Following Blood Count Indicate?
Question: I had a full blood count and had higher levels of the following:
M.Corpuscular Vol. 98.40 (normal range being 80.00-96.00
M.Corpuscular Hb. 32.90 (normal range being 27.00-31.00)
Monocytes. 10.70 (normal range being 0.00-9.00)
Should I worry or do I need to have other tests?

Brief Answer:
Kindly, post hemoglobin, hematocrit, TLC and DLC for interpretation
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
The red cell indices MCV, MCH and MCHC can be interpreted in light of hemoglobin and hematocrit values.
Thus, kindly post the hemoglobin and hematocrit values also.
In addition, post the total leucocyte count and differential count to interpret the monocyte percentage of 10.70 %.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
All blood parameters are normal,MCV, MCH and mono % are normal variations
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
All blood parameters- hemoglobin, hematocrit, platelet count, total leucocyte count and differential count are within range.
A mildly increased MCV and MCH indicate slightly larger red blood cells but that is absolutely fine, no disease process indicated.
The percentage of monocytes is also slightly raised but no disease process indicated.
These increased values are a part of normal variation seen in different individuals.
Thanks and take care
