What Do The Pink Spots In The Stomach Indicate?

Question: I have just come from having a tube put down my stomach and was told that hey found a few pink spots in my stomach. Should I be very worried

Hi and welcome.

In most cases, such pink changes are caused by gastritis or erosions and it should not be serious issue. Probably, the biopsy was taken and the exact finding will be handed over in a few days and then some more serious issues will be ruled out such as tumors. But tumors would have some other features, and it would not be pink. So this is probably gastritis so you should have easier food and take antacid medications (eg. PPIs like Omeprazole, Pantoprazole etc.).

Thank you doctor I am feeling better now based on what you have said. I will be seeing the gastro lady doctor shortly for the results but I am such a worrier and needed an opinion albeit based on the brief history that I have provided you. She did not take any biopsies so that should be a good sign too...right??
