What Do These CBC Report And Blood Biochemistry Details Indicate?

Question: Why am I so tired?
Last week, I collapsed at work and went to hospital. Went to work not eating, early shift, feeling awful. Went to hospital and have blood results after one week. Whats wrong with me?

Undue tiredness in a marathon runner

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Your complete blood count and blood biochemistry is normal. For your undue tiredness with your status of marathon runner,you should go for serum electrolytes to exclude hyponatremia. Serum 25(OH) vitamin D level needs to be done also along with serum calcium.
You also should undergo ECG (Electrocardiography)in view of bradycardia (which is however common in athlete ) and 2-D Echocardiorgaphy to exclude Athlete's heart.For that you have to see a cardiologist.

I forgot to inform you that I have visited cardiologist and all is normal except for 28 year murmur which Causes no troubles.
Other questions:
My sodium levels are also very low so do you recommend something for this? If so what can be done to provide a consistent intake? Or do you consider this not a problem?

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

It seems that you have chronic hyoponatraemia which can cause persistent tiredness. In spite of taking oral salt,if serum sodium level remains below 120 meq/L(normal reference range 136-145 meq/L) ,one needs to consider Vaptan group of drugs/vasopressin receptor antagonist to keep sodium at optimum level.
Please post your serum electrolytes or any thyroid hormone study ( Serum T3,T4 & TSH) undertaken ,since your renal parameters are normal.

Many thanks for good information and support on this.

Q1..
I also have found out that a tooth has been removed and a little piece has been left inside my gum - my sinus and eye socket has a long time numming pain. My dentist is sending me to see a facial specialist to remove it. Do you think that this could be infected and thus causing tiredness also? Should I be taking anti-biotics directly?

Iam visiting another local doctor in 1 week to have more detailed blood tests as you have specified previously.
also, in addition I would like you to comment on my very ow platlette in my blood assessment. I have had this for many years and several doctors comment on it BUT nothing has been prescribed to improve this. What are your supportive comments here? and what is the solution to improve these levels?

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Since you have tooth root left and it is infected as it is causing pain with possibilty of spread to adjacent sinus,you need to see maxillo facial surgeon preferably. Let doctor decide about antibiotics required.

Your platelet count is low but above 100,000/ c mm -hence not clinically significant. Since it has not fallen below 100,000/ c mm,no drug has been prescribed all these years.
