What Do These PET-MDCT Angiography Findings Indicate?
Tiny hypodense lesions in segment VIII and IV A of the liver with FDG uptake in the segment VIII lesion? metastasis.
Enlarged FDG avid gastrohepatic and left level IV nodes? Nature. Suggested FNAC from the left IV cervical node/gastrohepatic node.
FNAC is done to classify cancer.Treatment depends on stage and substage.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking on HCM,
Every carcinoma is classified under TNM classification where T refers to the size and extent of the main tumor. The main tumor is usually called the primary tumor. The N refers to the the number of nearby lymph nodes that have cancer. The M refers to whether the cancer has metastasized. This means that the cancer has spread from the primary tumor to other parts of the body.
FNAC has been suggested to patient to classify tumour under TNM.
Stage of cancer is decided by its TNM catagory and further treatment could be done only after TNM classification.
Liver and neraby organs are drained by a particular lynph node. Therefore Gastrohepatic node would reveal the level of nodal involvement.
