What Do These Fluctuating CA Levels Indicate?

Question: I have had intermittent pain in my left lower abdomen/hip area for a few years, and have been "worked up" for ovarian cancer, as my mom died of breast cancer. My CA125 fluctuates for the past 2 1/2 years between 66-98. I get frequent transvaginal sonograms and have had a few MRI's, in addition to watching the blood levels. A Gyn-0nc surgeon said he would not explore, as my overies are healthy and just to watch. Can these symptoms be colon or rectal cancer?
Brief Answer:
Not due to cancer
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX,
Thanks for posing this query through Health Care magic.
You should be rest assured that that you are neither suffering from Ovarian Cancer nor Colonic cancer. Mild increase in Ca125 level occurs in chronic inflammatory conditions which may be in the bowel or other pelvic structures. Colon or rectal cancer will have other grave symptoms and during the period of 21/2 yrs. it would have shown the aggressiveness.
Take it easy, has symptomatic pain management and if your urine is acidic keeps it alkaline by taking alkalizes under the prescription of your doctor and I am sure you will get relief.
