What Do These Following Blood Reports Indicate?
No major blood disorder
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. The reports attached show a microcytic hypochromic anemia, which is present if one is carrier of the beta thalessemia trait.
Sickle cell trait and beta thalessemia trait are not major blood disorders.
Sickle cell trait occur due to inheritance of sickle cell genetic mutation from one parent and it is only a carrier state, has no effect on the baby.
Thalessemia trait is due to inheritance of beta thalessemia mutation from one parent. It is also a carrier state, and causes mild anemia in the person, which can often go unnoticed. It is not a major blood disorder and requires no active medical management. Folic acid supplementation should be given to such person to improve hemoglobin levels.
I suggest you not to worry at all as it is only a carrier state of genes.
