Question: Good evening sir,
My self is XXXXXXX XXXXXXX and living in XXXXXXX with my wife. She is 43 years old and the patient of CKD 5th stage.
She is on dialysis for 3 months. Can she be eligible for cadaveric kidney transplant in Tamil Nadu being a non-tamil nadu resident. If yes then what are the formalities to be registered. How much time will be waited to make transplant ?

I have seen the attached reports. Yes, she is eligible for renal transplant. There is no problem in being not a resident of that locality. HLA matching is done and a suitable kidney will be transplanted.

Formalities differ from hospital to hospital. You may have to enquire bout the same in hospital of your choice.

Yes, eligibility criteria of a person for the cadaveric or live donor remains the same. Its the HLA matching which determines whether we can transplant.

The matching is better with live donor, whereas life expectancy after transplant is good with cadaveric.
