Question: hello Doctor,

My father has been suffering with High BP and Diabetes for last 12 years.
He also has Thyroid.
His recent blood test reports also indicated some issues with Kidney however the ultrasound came normal.
Based on the reports, his doctors has started some new medicines 2 days back .
But last night he had severe vomitting all of a sudden with no other complaints.
Could it be because of the side effects of any of tbe prescribed medicines ?
I am attaching here all his latest reports and prescription.
Please suggest.

Thanks
doctor

Brief Answer:
Monitor progress...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I went through the details and the attached reports. I have noted the raised serum creatinine and other abnormalities. Did you have an urine test? I didn't find urine test reports in the list of tests uploaded. Based on prescribed drugs, perhaps there was an element of infection leading to raised serum creatinine. You should check with your doctor.

Now, about your question, yes a few of those medication can cause gastric intolerance leading to vomiting. But other possibilities including metabolic and electrolyte disturbance need to be ruled out too. Therefore if his symptoms don't resolve it will be wise to report back and discuss further.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.

hello Doctor,

Please find attached the Urine Culture Report.
Please suggest if all the medicines are required to be taken or we can cut short on any a little as my father is very reluctant to take these many medicines.

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
Upload complete report...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I went through culture and sensitive report. But I was not able to view what organism was found. Can you upload the complete report as a whole.

As far as medications are concerned, the list has medicines for diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, vitamin D / calcium deficiency as well as antibiotic (two antibiotic). I will be able to comment on antibiotic after reviewing culture and sensitive report. Besides antibiotic, I find the other medications are appropriate and needs to be taken.

Hope I have answered your question.

Regards
