What Do These Routine Health Check Up Reports Indicate?
Question: I have attached my wifes complete report. We did this health report just as a preventive measure. She is 30 years old. No major medical history. 2 years back, she had Vitamin D & B12 deficiency.
Please let me know, if anything is alarming and cause for concern in this report.
Please let me know, if anything is alarming and cause for concern in this report.
Brief Answer:
Seen reports, supplements suggested
Detailed Answer:
Looking at the reports following deficiencies turn up
1. low vitamin D
2. Borderline ferritin
3. Low calcium
Vitamin B 12 levels are normal, even if mildly low.
SO I would suggest replacement-
Tab Dexorange once a day will help recover iron and vitamin B12 both.
Calcerol XXXXXXX 60000 once a week for 6 weeks and shelcal os once a day will help recover calcium and vitamin D.
In case you do take it, non veg diet once to twice a week will help, but its not essential.
Repeat these levels at the end of 6 weeks
I hope that answers.
Best of luck

Thanks Doctor.
About the reduced Monocytes, Basophilsand Mean Corp. Hemo.CONC(MCHC) values, this is normal?
Also can you please let me know what is "HIGH SENSITIVITY C - REACTIVE PROTEIN (HsCRP)" its in Avg. Risk zone and Lipoprotein (a) [Lp(a)] is at high of 103 instead of below 30 as per the Reference range in the report.
Lastly, is there anythere here, which would cause weight gain or hair loss?
Thank you again.

Brief Answer:
Answered the specific question
Detailed Answer:
Hi
First, dont worry about the basophils and monocytes. Its a percentage system. So its ok.
Reduced MCHC means that you are at risk of developing anemia. I have already suggested supplements to avoid that.
As for the HS CRP- the report says about it- I will quote that first-
"Interpretation:
High sensitivity C-reactive protein, when used in conjunction with other clinical laboratory evaluation of
acute coronary syndromes, may be useful as an independent marker of prognosis for recurrent events, in patients
with stable coronary disease or acute coronary syndromes. hsCRP levels should not be substituted for assessment of
traditional cardiovascular risk factors. Patients with persistently unexplained, marked evaluation of hsCRP after
repeated testing should be evaluated for non - cardiovascular etiologies
Clinical significance:
hsCRP measurements may be used as an independent risk marker for the identification of individuals at
risk for future cardiovascular disease. Elevated CRP values may be indicative of prognosis of individuals with acute
coronary syndromes, and may be useful in the management of such individuals. "
However, when the iron studies are not correct, this test is unreliable. So dont worry about it.
As far as hair loss is concerned, iron replacement may help correct a part of it.
However, I may suggest minoxidil solution for the same.
Nothing in the report can explain weight gain.
Best of luck,

Detailed Answer:
Hi
No Lipoprotein should not be ignored.
However, if we see the lipid profile, its absolutely normal.
So we dont have to do anything about it.
The medicines will do more harm than benefit in that case.
simple exercise will help you there.
As for shelcal os, take 500 dose.
Best of luck.
