What Do These Ultrasound Findings Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 16 Jun 2015
Question: I had an ultrasound screening for abdominal aortic aneurisym which was normal, but there was a midline suspected abnormality found the size of 14.8 cm x 13.9 cm x 16.1 cm. I don't have pain unless someone presses on my abdoman. I am obese (42 as opposed to 30) but after losing 30 lbs, my abdoman continues to stay large and possibly enlarging. I look around 8 mo pregnant. I am 61, menopause several years ago, started light spotting or bleeding 18 mos ago, and have nausea often after eating or drinking fluids. I have much trouble with frequent urination and seem to have a uti any occasion I see the doctor, which isn't often. I am type 2 diabetic also taking metformin only, successfully. I am scared to death about what they saw in the ultrasound. Any ideas what it MIGHT be?

Brief Answer:
You may need contrast CT scan of abdomen.

Your ultrasound findings suggests large abnormality in mid line of abdomen,it may be due to many causes.Other findings related to abnormality is not mentioned means it is not mentioned whether it is cystic or solid or mixed lesion. It is important to know about its vascularity.

You may need contrast CT scan of abdomen for further evaluation.

Frequent urination may be due to many causes like diabetes mellitus,UTI,psychogenic etc.
You may need recent blood sugar level, urine RE/ME and culture/sensitivity.

Thyroid profile should also be estimated due to obesity.
