What Do Tingling Sensation On Fingertips And Numbness Suggest?

Question: Yes. My husband has had these symptoms several times in last few months. It starts with a tingling in finger tips, then He feels a loss of motor skills in left hand, kind of a numbness, tingly in forearm, almost extra sensitive and some loss of control, weakness in left leg. He recovers fully and does extremely physical work with no problem.. He is 67, very fit, does smoke and drink. 6'1" and 175 pounds. Did break his clavicle twice skiing.
This is the first time I have seen it happening, he's not mentioned it since it happened when overseas.

Brief Answer:
Check MRI BRAIN and CV Doppler
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal
I have read your message
I think I can help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible brain issue.
It is what we call TIA or a XXXXXXX stroke where the symptoms come and go quickly.
His age gender and habits put him at a risk.
I would suggest getting an MRI BRAIN and CV DOPPLER as soon as possible.
Meet a neurologist.
You may need to start on antiplatelets like ecosprin and statins like rosuvastatin immediately.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal

I have checked his blood pressure, it was 151 over 87, which is high for him.
He is often 128 over 75. I gave him one of my hypertension meds, (20 mg lisonopril) and 4 baby aspirin (89 mg each). I also gave him 20 mg of Crestor
Is this OK?
Should we go to the ER tonight?
or is it ok to see a DR. tomorrow?
What would you do?

Brief Answer:
Suggested steps
Detailed Answer:
Don't bring the BP down.
150 may be ok for him.
If there is a vessel thinning high BP may be the thing keeping him from having another episode.
Ecosprin and statin doses are fine. Don't repeat the dose. Single tablets may suffice till further evaluation.
The problem with TIA is that a full stroke can occur anytime. But your ER will not consider you if you have no symptoms.
I will suggest meeting a neurologist as soon as possible. Meet in opd. If necessary he/ she can admit you directly from there.
That's what I would suggest.
And don't worry about the tablet of BP already given. Just make sure he lies down with no pillow till the effects pass.
