What Does "Normospermia With Round Cells" In A Semen Analysis Test Mean?

Question: i have done a semen analysis test. i need to know about the results. whether they are ok or not? is Sperm Morphology and Sperm Motility are fine? what is meant by impression- "Normospermia with round cells". Any problems in the semen, as me and my wife are planning for a baby? and if any problems , what to do next?

Your semen analysis report shows excessive number of abnormal sperms i,e abnormal morphology.Normally 16 % sperms should have normal morphology for natural fertilization.In your case,sperms with abnormal morphology are 98% and normal morphology are 2 %.
Round cells are abnormal cells in semen,it is also increased.

Other findings are within normal limit.
Sperm count is within normal limit.
Motility and liquefaction time are also normal.

If findings doesn't improve then you may need assisted fertilization technique like ICSI(Intra cytoplasmic sperm injection).

dear maam, thanks for the reply. Me and my wife are planning for a baby. so the matter is urgent. What i am supposed to do next? any check up, treatment? how much time it will take to be perfect? Should we continue our planning for the baby or should we stop ?what will be cost and where to go in Goa preferably? Plz help me out.

First,let me assure you that condition is not very serious.
Ideally wait and watch should be done for some time as condition may improve with time.
You should avoid heat exposure to your scrotal area.Avoid tight underpants.
Avoid alcohol and smoking,if you take these things.

You need repeat test after four to six weeks to look for improvements. If there are no signs of improvement then additional tests may be required to see if there are any underlying issues that are causing the abnormalities.

Men with abnormal sperm morphology are not infertile, it just may take longer time than normal to do so.

In non responsive cases,couple may need assisted fertilization technique.

You can consult any reputed infertility center.

sir,when should i go for next semen test? any medication should i take? and whether me and my wife to continue plan for the child or should we wait? i am 32 and my wife is 33 years. She had one miscarriage 2 years back. So plz guide for the future as we are planning for baby for last 2 years, but in vain. patience is running out.

At present,you don't need any aggressive treatment.You should take nutritious food and go for some exercise.Try to be physically active in daily activities.

Repeat semen analysis after 6 weeks.If findings doesn't improve then you may need further assessment.
