What Does SP02 Of 91% And BPM Of 72 Indicate?
Question: my SP02 is 91% and my bpm 72. is this OK as yesterday it was 93/107. I do have angina and take beatablockers
Brief Answer:
These vitals are pretty normal
Detailed Answer:
Hi there, Thanks for coming to HealthCareMagic,
SP02% is a measure of the amount of oxygen dissolved in your blood. For normal people at sea level, that number varies between 90 to 100%.
If you've been holding your breath for about 30 seconds the number drops. If you smoke, the numbers tend to be on the lower side. If you have a disease called COPD, your saturation might tend to be in the 80's instead of the 90's.
A pulse between 70 and 110 is pretty normal. So these vitals are pretty normal. You have nothing to worry about there.
Whats made you worry about these numbers?

yesterday when it was 93/107 I was advised to go to the emergency department stright away. I did and they monitor me for 3 hours but I was allowed home after
Brief Answer:
Evaluation of chest pain
Detailed Answer:
Hi, Thanks for following up. I'm going to assume a few things here.
I assume the 93 is 93% saturation and 107 is 107 bpm.
I'm also assuming you were having the anginal pain at the same time and you headed to the ER while there was pain.
When a person is complaining of chest pain and has a history of using Beta blockers, it's always the safer thing to observe them and make sure they don't end up having any rhythm disturbances (arrhythmia) of the heart or a heart attack. During this observation period, they may have even done an ECG / EKG on you. They would have checked for any cardiac problems with that.
Sounds like that episode turned out OK though. As I said, these vitals are quite OK.
Let me know how I can clarify further,
Vinay
