Question: Hi. My baby is 21 days old. There was a blood test done on her when she was 2 days old. Her TSH level says 11.88. The Dr asked for a new blood test today. I was talking the Thyronom tablet during my pregnancy and still taking it currently. What does TSH level of 11.88 mean for my baby?
Brief Answer:
The level is normal
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Let me assure you that for a nonate (baby upto 1 month of age) a TSH level of upto 18 is normal and so the level of 11.88 is absolutely acceptable. There is nothing to worry about.
Let me know if I could help further.
Regards

This is my baby's previous report from when sge was 2 days old. Her Dr says the value should've been less than 10.
Brief Answer:
It is in the acceptable range.
Detailed Answer:
Yes, less than 10 is good but less than 18 is acceptable. However, a follow up test needs to be done after 6 weeks.
