According to my lab results i do not have any of the conditions mentioned nor have i participated in any heavy exercise or had IM injections. I continue to have excruciating musle pain and spasms. Massage makes it worse. Fibromyalga?
Brief Answer:
Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Medications like STATINS such as Atorvastatin, Rosuvastatin etc can also lead to muscular pains that you described.Fibromyalgia is a chronic and generalized pain and tenderness disorder. Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion and other disorders should be ruled out before a diagnosis of fibromyalgia is concluded.
Insomnia or poor sleep is a hall mark in fibromyalgia and may involve additional symptoms of depression, and fatigue. Trigger point injections, , chiropractor consultations acupuncture are some of the intervention options that are available as part of treating fibromyalgia. Ibuprofen and gabapentin can be advised initially in combination with either duloxetine or nortryptiline to assess for improvement, in consult with your doctor, if fibromyalgia is diagnosed. Based on individual symptoms medication combinations can be changed e.g in patients of fibromyalgia with vasomotor symptoms , beta blockers are a good option and in postmenopausal women raloxifene can lead to much improvement overall symptoms.
