Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that your PSA has shown raising trend over a period of 5 months .
I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Do you have any urinary symptoms like frequency for urination ,nocturia ,urgency for urination etc suggesting bladder outlet obstruction ?
2) Have you consulted Urologist and has he done Digital Rectal Examination if so what were the findings ?
There is international protocol that is followed all over the world which suggests that whenever there is raising trend in PSA levels over a short period of time it is always suspected to be due to Cancer of the prostate unless proved otherwise by doing Ultrasound Guided multicore Prostate biopsy .This is the only way to confirm or rule out cancer of the prostate.
Go ahead and get it done as suggested by your Urologist .
Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Hello
Thanks for follow up.
Is it clearly mentioned in your ultrasound report that you have BPH ?
BPH and cancer of the prostate can co exist simultaneously hence it is raised PSA that requires cancer of the prostate to be ruled out which can be confirmed only by doing biopsy of the prostate .
Thanks and Regards.

Digital Rectal Examination plays important role .
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.
Digital rectal examination plays important role and has to be carried out after collecting blood for PSA estimation
If the posterior surface of the prostate is smooth and soft there is likely hood of BPH where as hard palpable nodule suggest cancer of the prostate .
Rest of the facts like urine analysis ,blood tests for STD ,are insignificant .
Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical and digital rectal examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis
3) Serum PSA.
This will help you to take decision regarding need to do prostate biopsy and to allay your anxiety.
Thanks and Regards
