Brief Answer:
perhaps you changed the units preferences by mistake?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

128 which is definitely mg/dL is a little high for a fasting blood sugar. Two measurements equal to or above 126mg/dL are required for the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. Of course they have to be lab measurements, not self-measurements at home.

The second number is perhaps in mmol/L. 128mg/dL are equal to 7.1 mmol/L. Taking into account the variability of the measurement, it sounds reasonable to me that you've just - somehow - changed the preferred unit in the device from mg/dL to mmol/L.

I hope I've helped!

Brief Answer:
6.8 means diabetes

Detailed Answer:
6.8% is too high for a normal individual. It means that the blood glucose gets to high levels and the insulin can't cope with its levels. If you didn't know you had diabetes the you should discuss treatment options with your doctor. This is 99.9% a type 2 diabetes so metformin is a reasonable choice. Starting with 500mg is OK for most people. You can increase the dosage later depending on your blood sugars and glucosylated hemoglobin A1c.

Treating diabetes means changing your every day habits. You've got to adopt a healthy life style, including a healthy diet which will allow you to maintain an acceptable body weight and engage in daily physical activity. Treating other risk factors like high cholesterol levels and hypertension is very important as well.

Kind Regards!
