What Does A Burning Sensation In Groin Area After Supracervical Hysterectomy Indicate?
XXXX
nerve related pain
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
It may be related to activity before your body is ready but may also be due to nerve injury.
Unfortunately with any surgical procedure there would be trauma to the small nerves in the skin (as area has to be incised) and possible nerves in the surrounding tissue.
Nerve related pain (neuralgia) typically causes abnormal sensations such as the burning you are experiencing.
Some persons also have sticking, tingling, numbness , stabbing pain etc
This can sometimes start a while after a surgical procedure has occurred.
You can try using pain killers that you have available (eg aspirin, paracetamol, ibuprofen, naproxen) but if these are not effective then medication used specifically for nerve pain may be needed (amitriptyline, tegretol, lyrica, gabapentin)
Those medications would require a prescription from your doctor.
Rest is also important.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
unlikely any permanent severe damage but if continues need assessment
Detailed Answer:
HI
Sorry about the late reply
It is unlikely that you would have caused any permanent severe damage but it would be best to not to have intercourse again till week 4 to 6.
There would be some internal stitches that would dissolve naturally.
For now, you can monitor and use your pain killers, if the pain does not improve then you would need to consider seeing your doctor for assessment and stronger
