If you are talking about any bulging pain in the navel area,that could be due to periumbilical hernia,diverticulitis,crohns disease.A colonoscopy would give a clear picture to rule out these diseases.

Please try taking pantoprazole or esmoprazole OTC drugs for a week in empty stomach to get relief from gas problems.

I think you should be concerned until you rule out the above said diseases.It is because in case it is just the initial phase of hernia,it can become worst as time goes causing more pain and organ damage.

I would suggest you to go for proper physical examination by a physician alongwith abdominal ultrasonography or Xray,to rule out any complications.
