Is It Advisable To Take Alcohol When I Have A Cyst?
Hi! Yesterday I was on the abdominal ultrasound and the doctor discovered a cyst next to my spleen (6x6 centimeters). Monday I ll probably have a CT. The rest of the organs are good. And I have a question. because I have a birthday party today, and can I drink alcohol when I have this cyst? I m from Polish, I m 18
Since you are diagnosed with cyst in the spleen, you should be careful with your diet. Avoid taking food to which you have some allergy. Cut on spicy, oily, junk food. Cut on addictions if any. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, sugar, and foods that cause gas. Maintain hydration to avoid constipation.
You are suggested to get the treatment done at the earliest. If left untreated, benign cysts can cause complications like infections, the cyst may fill with bacteria and pus and form abscess. If the abscess bursts inside the body, there is a risk of blood poisoning (septicaemia). Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
