What Does A Painful Lump On Calf Indicate?
Question: I woke up three days ago with a painful nickle sized lump on my calf. Since such time a large bruise has formed and spreading down my calf. The circular area where the lump is remains a pale color. The pain is not as bad as it was but still concerning...any thoughts?
Brief Answer:
Veins thrombosis should be ruled out
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thank you for the query.
Calf pain and bruise can be a symptom of veins thrombosis. Especially if there was any injury recently or you do take any hormonal medicines. Your calf should be hard and tender when pressing on it.
As veins thrombosis can be life threatening I suggest you to do not waif with it. Consult your doctor. Dopplers veins ultrasound should be done.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards
