What Does A Red Patch On Back Indicate?

Question: Hi Dr,

I have a red patch on my mid back,it is not painful or itchy.What could it be due to?

I had a back pain and I had mixed to pain balms to apply on my back,could it be an allergic reaction?

Please advice.

From the review of picture it looks like ecchymosis i.e collection of blood in skin due to rupture of tiny blood vessels.
But its difficult to point specific diagnosis as the picture you have posted is not very clear. Therefore, I insist you to post good clinical pictures with better clarity from different distance so that I can help you in a better way.
