Question : I have a red rash on my arms and thighs. My neck, cheeks and eyelids feel like they are burning and sometimes itchy (close to what a sunburn feels like only I dont have a sunburn). Benadryl helps the symptoms. I have had this for 2 days now.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for posting on Healthcaremagic.

I appreciate your concern about rash on face and body. From your description, its difficult to layout one single definitive diagnosis, however based on the symptoms, it seems like allergic dermatitis and urticaria. Since benadryl helps, you may continue with it. In addition, I would start you on course of antibiotic like azithromycin and and a steroid such as prednisolone for additional benefits. These are prescription only drugs; your local physician will know about it.

You may try this regimen for a week and let me know your condition. We might go for some basic investigations if required on follow.

In the meanwhile avoid sour, fermented foods, non- veg food, any food article with artificial colors or preservatives and avoid junk as far as possible.

Hope this will take care of your problem,
Wish you best of health
