What Does A Red Spot On Wrist Indicate?

Question: About 5-8 weeks ago I noticed this red spot on my wrist. I thought it was a rash as I get yeasty rashes on my chest often. Well, the spot hasn't spread like a yeast rash would and then it really doesn't look like a rash I've ever seen. It's flat and maybe just very slightly raised. I have a dermatology appointment September 30th. I am concerned about skin cancer or something. Does this look or sound like skin cancer? Will my dermatologist biopsy it? Remove it? It's right on my wrist over my veins.. Is waiting until September 30th the long to wait??

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
I can understand your apprehension regarding the skin lesion.
Its difficult to point specific diagnosis in absence of clinical examination.
Therefore, I insist you to post good clinical pictures to me so that I can help you in a better way.

Brief Answer:
Topical clobetasol
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting the pictures.
The lesion does look little out of
ordinary as it has been persistent for 5-8 weeks.
But still clinically it doesnot look like any malignant lesion.
It could be some eczematou lesion due to some insect bite or contact with some allergic material.
I would suggest application of
clobetasol and fusidic acid based cream
twice a day for 15 days.
I am sure this will take care of your situation.
Thanks

I've attached one more photo which may be a little clearer.
IF it did need to be removed, is the position of it tricky? Is the proximity to blood veins worrisome as far as it spreading or removal?

Detailed Answer:
Though the site is little tricky but I dont think there would be any issue to biopsy the lesion if done by a good dermatologist with sound surgical skill.
Though the chances of malignancy is almost nill but its wise to clear all the doubts by taking a biopsy.
