Brief Answer:
fluids, rest, oral and local pain killers, cool/cold liquids or solids

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Sore throat can be due to viral infection usually though bacterial infection can also occur (strep throat).
Strep throat would normally have prolonged fever (more than 3 days), pain that increases (by day 3 ,normally there is slight improvement with viral infections)

The most common reason for these symptoms is the common cold. Some persons may have the flu but this tends to be associated with muscle and joint pain, severe fatigue and lethargy, prolonged fever.

This means that other cold symptoms such as runny nose, congestion and cough, may start.

Treatment: (1) fluids and rest
(2)local pain killers such as chloroseptic spray or gargle, covonia throat spray/gargle or diflam. These also contain antiseptic
(3)pain killer such as paracetamol
(4)use cool or cold liquids and/or solids

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
