What Does " A1c Of 4.5" Mean?

Question: I was diagnosed as hypoglycemic / prediabetic seven years ago. Apparently, due to the hypoglycemia, I had pushed my sugars too far up at that time. I have started to have issues again so I had lab work done. The result I received today was an a1c of 4.5 . The doctor told me that I'm on the low side of " normal ". She said " normal " is 5.1 to 5.7 . What does this mean exactly and what can I do to fix this if I need to?

For people without diabetes mellitus,the normal range for the hemoglobin A1c(Glycosylated hemoglobin) test is between 4% and 5.6% Your report is 4.5,so it is absolutely normal. The HbA1c(glycosylated hemoglobin) test is an important blood test for determining how well diabetes mellitus is being controlled.It measures an average amount of sugar in blood.Hemoglobin A1c provides an average of blood sugar control over a six to 12 week period.
