What Does Abdominal Swelling Indicate After Recovering From A Flu?

Question: Hello, I had flu like symptoms a few days ago, however, after the flu ran its course and I was feeling better again I noticed a swelling appeared at the right side of my abdomen. The area has been swollen for 5 days now and it is slight paining. the swollen area is slightly hard when touched. I am not sure what could have caused this swelling to appear just like that, without receiving any injury to the area. Please advise me on the possible causes of the swelling in that particular area and what to do. Thanks in advance for your response.

Hello and Welcome,
I appreciate your concern,
Based on your description and the image you uploaded, its likely to be a lipoma.
Lipoma is a benign tumor of adipose tissue (body fat).
An ultrasound abdomen with focus on the right mid to upper quadrant should be advised to determine the cause.
