What Does An Inflamed And Itching Clitoris Indicate?
Question: Hi.
I have had an issue regarding my clitoris being inflamed, itchy, slightly red and painful. the problem started 3 days ago and has yet to get any better at all. I have not done anything irregular, no intercourse leading up to this point and have not had anything similar in the past. I am curious what solutions could be recommended.
thanks

Brief Answer:
Mostly a fungal infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Clitoral itching can be due to vaginal yeast infections, sensitivity to soaps or built up smegma. Other causes such as stress, dehydration and dryness or infection of hair follicles can also cause itching.
I would suggest you to apply Monistat cream twice daily for 7 days. Apply the cream onto the itchy irritated area outside the vagina. Generally miconazole (Monistat) cream is available over the counter. Please enquire in the nearby pharmacy.
In case your symptoms persists or worsens it is best to meet a gynecologist for a detailed examination and treatment.
I hope this answered your query.

Firstly, thanks very much for your speedy and helpful response.
I have subsequently bought the cream and have been applying it as recommended. I am still in a great deal of pain and the area seems to have formed an open wound/sore. I assume it would be best I see a gynecologist? would you be able to make any recommendations of where to visit or make an appointment?
thanks

Brief Answer:
Please visit any gynecologist near your place.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Yes it is best you see a gynecologist. I am sorry but I don't have any knowledge about gynecologists in your place. Since this is a common problem and easily treatable you can visit any gynecologist near your place where you can get an appointment as soon as possible.
For pain you can ideally try sitz baths twice a day.
I hope this answered your query.
