Brief Answer:
Suggested repeat chest X ray

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
As per medical history, you have had severe back pain, fever, chills and non productive cough recently for which you got chest X ray and CT scan done. There were 3 bilateral nodules with ill defined margins measuring approximately 2 cm in diameter. You were given antibiotics (Azithromycin) and it cleared up. You also did smoking for 12 years in the past and quit about 15 years back.

From the above sequence of event, it looks like you had bacterial pneumonia which had affected both lungs. This is obvious from your clinical improvement with antibiotics. The lung nodule also should have resolved and this can be seen on a repeat chest X ray. As CT scan emits a lot of radiation, a chest X ray is sufficient to know the current status of lung nodules.

Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
