What Does Blood Discharge During 12 Weeks Of Pregnancy Indicate?
Question: At 12 -13 weeks pregnant, after i tried to clean up after a bowel movement, i'd notice some blood. Bright red to be precise. What could be th cause? A scan showed a low placenta. Should i be worried? Will this cause placenta previa in the future?

1. threatened abortion
2. low lying placenta
3. bleeding around the fetus (subchorionic hemorrhage)
4. idiopathic, where no cause is found
Fresh bright red blood is most likely due to low lying placenta.
The low lying placenta usually migrates upwards with advancing gestation in about 98% cases, however 2% do turn into placenta previa
