What Does Elevated Serum Blood Urea Nitrogen Indicate?
Question: Good morning! I had a gangrenous gall bladder removed in Oct. The gangrene had grown in to my liver and I also had a huge abscess on my liver. Three tubes drained me, but I just got a report from a blood draw: UREA NITROGEN, SERUM 29 (H) 7-25 MG/DL DE. So it looks like I am 5 points higher than the range. Should I be concerned?
Brief Answer:
There is no cause for worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms,
There is absolutely no reason to be worried about marginally elevated Serum Blood Urea Nitrogen. The most commonest cause for elevation is dehydration most likely due to decreased consumption of water.
Ensuring good intake of fluids atleast 3 liter a day is all that is required.
There is no cause for worry.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
