What Does Endrometrium Thickness Of 12mm Indicate?

I need more information from you.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Before answering your query I want to ask some questions -
1) In which phase of menstrual cycle( or on which day of your cycle) was your ultrasonography test was done?
I need to know this because, Endometrial Thickness varies in your menstrual cycle days.
Other things I need to know are
1) Do you have any other problem like diabetes, hypertension or PCOD?
2) Are you taking any type of hormone supplement or other drugs?
Please revert back to me with answers to my questions and I will be able to give my opinion to you.
Dilation and Curettage (D&C) is usually done in these situations, but if I were your treating doctor then I will prefer an endometrial biopsy over D & C.
Normally Endometrium is thickened when there is excess of estrogen hormone and lower amounts of progesterone (in your case it could due to irregular cycle and obesity).
Hope this is useful information to you.
Waiting for your reply.
Good luck.
Regards
Dr. Richa

It can be due to DUB.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sorry for delay( I was stuck).
With your history and investigations in my opinion cause of your bleeding may be due to DUB( dysfunctional uterine bleeding).
There are two types of treatment one is medical other is surgical method.
Medical treatment include-
1) You can take oral- contraceptive( containing progestin with very low dose estrogen)
2) You can try minera IUD
3) Cyclic progesterone therapy
Surgical method-
1) D&C
2) Endometrial ablation
3) Hysterectomy
In your case I would suggest that you can use cyclic hormonal therapy along with ibuprofen and Trapic ( which your doctor already prescribed)if it is not responding then you can go for D&C( it will remove thick endometrium) after consulting your treating doctor.
Your family is already complete so if your bleeding is not responding to these measures you can think about hysterectomy.
I think this information is useful to you, if you have further query I will be happy to help you.
Good luck.
Regards
Dr. Richa
