What Does Excessive Sleeping In A Youngster Indicate?
Question: My 29-year old daughter has been sleeping for approximately five days. She wakes briefly, may or may not be able to eat, then goes right back to bed. Her health situation is very complex and we re waiting for the results of massive blood studies to come back, although her doctor thinks along the lines of "exotic" autoimmune disorders. This is scary. What should we do?

This is very unusual symptom at this age and she needs more detailed work up definitely. She must be admitted in hospital and examined by neurologist. She should do mri of brain,eeg and toxicology testing. Blood finding won't tell you anything about her diagnosis. Wish you good health. Regards
