What Does Foul Odor In Mouth Post Unprotected Oral Sex Suggest?
Question: Dear,
I'm a male who had unprotected oral sex. Two days after the exposure I felt a bad smell in my mouth. Four days later white patches started to occur on my tonsilis, please see Photo: http://imgur.com/gFCaiCo (or watch the attached file). I haven't used antibotics recently, could this be Chlamydia or Ghonorrea?
I have had no other symptoms, in terms of fever etc. I've been feeling abit low, but that could be due to the fact that I've been trying to find out what this is all about..

Brief Answer:
Infection definitely

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
This is definitely tonsillar and pharynx infection but exact cause cant be established without further tests. This can always be caused by streptococcal infection but considering your recent sexual activity, this is more likely to be gonorrheal or chlamydia pharyngitis. So I would suggest therapy with doxyciclin + azitromycin for 10 days, but consult your doctor before. Also, you should take swab test as soon as possible.
Wish you good health. Regards

Thank you for your quick response.
It will be difficult for me to consult a doctor on-sight.
Can it be related to HIV infection? I've read that preforming oral sex on a female is a low-risk of HIV infection. As well as that I need to wait 6 weeks prior of getting a ultimate result on my test.
The dose you recommend, what is the mg/caps per day of each? Doxyciclin + azitromycin for a 10 day treatment?
What can be the result if I leave this infection untreated for more than a week. As I would then be able to seek doctor consultancy.
I also would like to ask you why a 10 day therapy is suggested, is it due to the fact that I have symptoms?

Brief Answer:
You can wait
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
HIV risk is negligible through oral sex. You can wait, this is. it emergency, but it may cause pain, swallowing difficulties and fever. Dosage should be calculated depending on your age and weight. Doxicline is always taken for 10 days if std is suspected. Azitromicine can be taken for 3-5 days.
