What Does Greenish Discharge During 19 Weeks Of Pregnancy Indicate?
The discharge is from the infection you are being treated for
Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
The reason you have green discharge is because you have a vaginal infection by candida, which is called a yeast infection. Your doctor must have diagnosed you with it, which is why Clotimazole was prescribed.
Yeast infections can cause white, yellow and even green discharge accompanied by vaginal itching or discomfort. So, even though you are using the pessary, you may still see some of the discharge come out as your infection resolves.
As long as you do not have any vaginal bleeding, or severe cramping, there is no reason to be concerned about the discharge. It takes about a week for symptoms to typically resolve.
I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that this information was reassuring. If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,

I was diagnosed with bacterial viagnosis and yeast infections before it was bright yellow then after using the loo I would like a hot gush watery sometimes milky white come out and that's when I was scared it was leaking from ambitioc fluid went for a scan and baby heartbeat and everything was normal Alhamdullilah .
This is my first pregnancy. Today I'm exact 19 weeks and the smell is like yeah rotten fish sometimes like contaminated urine/vaginal secretion. Today I just saw a mint green dot like a small dot then I put tissue inside to check if there's more and nothing came out. So yeah
You may also have bacterial vaginosis which needs antibiotics for treatment
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Given you have a history of both types of infection, and that your discharge has a foul odor, you likely also have bacterial vaginosis, which can also cause green discharge. You may have had a yeast infection also when you were initially diagnosed, which can cause white, watery mixed with thick yellow or white discharge.
The clotrimazole will not treat the vaginosis, you will need an oral antibiotic called Metronidazole which is taken by mouth and is safe to use during pregnancy in the second trimester. It is important that you be treated because having vaginosis can increase the risk of premature labor.
So I recommend you contact your local physician and notify them of your symptoms so they may prescribe the proper treatment. You should finish the Clotrimazole as well because you need to finish the yeast treatment also.
I hope my advice was helpful and that you feel better soon.
Regards,
Dr. Brown
