Heterogeneous myometrial echoes are the ultrasonographic picture of the muscular layer of the uterus.
It is usually foundin a female having adenomyosis.
Adenomyosis is a condition in which there is collection of endometrial(uterine) tissue in the myometrium.Normally, they are not present.
Adenomyosis presents with complains like:
pain during menstruation, heavy menstrual blood flow and lower abdominal pain.
