What Does Low Progesterone Levels Post Clomid Treatment Indicate?
Question: Dear Dr. Web, I was recently started on clomid 50mg by my obgyn due to trying to conceive, and on the second month my doctor upped it to 100mg. This is my second month of treatment. I went in and had my progesterone levels done and it was 0.8. My understanding is that it is a very low level for ovulation to have occured. Along side the clomid I bought the ovulation predictor kit so I can properly time intercourse. On day 18 of my cycle when I tested my urine sample with the kit it showed peak ovulation on the monitor. My question is since my progesterone was that low will I still have my period this month? considering I have been having them every month even though the length varies.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, i understand your health concerns.
Yes progesterone is low but as fertility monitor showed strong positive these two findings are suggestive of the fact that you had ovulated but probably pregnancy hasnt occurred.
Low progesterone is suggestive of negative pregnancy but it is still not very confirmative.
So just wait till 15 days post positive ovulation test and do a urine pregnancy test.
All the best and in case you have other questions i will be happy to help.
