What Does "mass In Lungs" Mean?

she is running all the same bloodwork again for lupus ANA, "you name it" antibodies, thyroid, lyme etc...this were al;ready run multiple times. I eat healthy wight is good except January suddenly dropped from 140 to 105, I was bones. Sweats break out w/ fever, they also had done tone of woman-manupause related tests and those hormone were surperb. I was in a auto accident in 2010 and had severla spine operations and have done great util 1.5 years ago this weird stuff came about. i also had blood in urine and feces which a colonoscopy was done and "clean" a month ago but now I am light headed an passing out from time to time. ... my novice searching of my symptoms comes up CRPS and polymyostitus.
Any thought on this mass besides cancer? I wish they would just do a biopsy any test that. Can you explain the "filling defect" part? It sound like heart but i don't think that's what radiologist is talking about.
( FYI, the font is so dam small on your site my spelling is horrible 'cause I can barely read...) thanks
Thanks!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.
From the provided information, the radiologist is concerned about the presence of a mass in the lungs. Mass in the lungs can represent swollen lymph nodes, infections, cancers, or no specific pathology.
In this light, he wants a a better test that can provide more information on what this suspected mass/nodule is. That is why a CT scan is being ordered to probe further into this. Stay calm and follow through with the testing and you would get answers soon as to what the exact cause is.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
Am sorry if lung mass came across as being too hard.
Your findings suggest that there is a suspicious mass in the lungs. The next step is to probe as to what the possible causes of this mass could be. Lung nodules can be related to infections like Fungal, tuberculosis, cancers, auto immune conditions like sarcoidosis, etc, etc.
I believe you when you say you are sick. a rapid drop in weigh from 140 to 105 is concerning to me. It means there is something going on that needs to be identified and managed accordingly. Unfortunately, that has not been identified.
Polymyositis would cause these generalized pain symptoms, muscle weakness, etc but would rarely explain this significant and rapid drop in weight!.
There is no reason to freak out just now. Let us do some more investigations to define what this mass maybe. I will suggest that your doctor refers you for a lung specialist for more detailed evaluation about this lung finding.
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
