What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?
Question: Hi, my discharge notes say that the CT shows: an established R perforating artery territory infarct; calcification in the R basal ganglia; hypo density in L caudate nucleus; lesion in the right frontal operculum and inferior frontal gyrus; low attenuation right anterior insula and adjacent putamen. What does this mean in non medical words please? Thanks in advance.
Brief Answer:
Cerebral vascular damage.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Your CT report says (in non-medical words) that there are damages of certain parts of your brain caused by occlusion of small arteries and damages from probable high blood pressure.
There is a infarction (brain damage from vessel occlusion) area so it is not a TIA (transient ischemic attack) it is a consolidated damage.
Hope I've been able to inform you in a understandable way. If you have further questions feel free to ask.
