What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?
Question: Do I need to worry about this recent CT scan re: Lung nodule? What is the differnce between cm and mm size also. Thank you, Mary XXXXXXX
PROCEDURE: High resolution CT of the chest: 11/25/2016
INDICATION: PULMONARY NODULE
TECHNIQUE: Helical sections were obtained from the thoracic inlet
to the level of the adrenal glands without intravenous contrast.
Multiplanar reformatting was performed.
Radiation dose reduction techniques utilized: Automated exposure
control and adjustment of mA and/or kV according to patient size.
High-resolution images were provided.
COMPARISON: None
FINDINGS: LOWER NECK: The thyroid gland is within normal limits.
MEDIASTINUM: No evidence of mediastinal or hilar adenopathy. Arch
of the aorta is intact.
LUNGS: 1.5 mm stable nodule on image 19 in the right upper lung
field. Stable focus of ground-glass density measuring 2.4 x 2.3 cm
on image 37 in the left upper lung field. 2.9 mm subpleural nodule
seen in the right posterior basal paraspinal region unchanged from
prior examination. This is seen on image 94. No evidence of pleural
effusion. No pneumothorax.
SOFT TISSUE ON BONES: The soft tissues are normal in appearance.
Degenerative changes of the thoracic spine unchanged.
UPPER ABDOMEN: Unremarkable.
IMPRESSION: Stable nodules unchanged from prior examination.
Continued follow-up is recommended.

Brief Answer:
10mm make 1cm!
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I've gone through your query in details,
You need not worry because this noodle is not growing over time. If it were growing, then we would have suspected that it could be a tumor. Because it is not growing. it is probably the consequence of a disease sometime in the past. Monitoring for now as recommended is the best way forward.
10mm makes 1cm. It is a unit of measurement.
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
Regards
