What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?

Question: hi. i dont know why i tried this but i tried to ejaculate to see if it would help my kidney stone move but no ejaculate came out. i had the sensation but nothing actually came out. i had a c.t scan saying i have a small stone in the ureter. im just wondering with no ejaculate coming out would the stone now be in the urethra? or maybe bladder? thank you.
Brief Answer:
Mention stone size to give an expert opinion.
Detailed Answer:
Hello xxxxxxxxxxx and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can understand your concern.
You've not given the size of the stone,to comment on blocking the urethra.
The stone causing blockage of the bladder neck, will cause retention of urine.
The ejaculate may not come out freely at times and may cause only a spill.
It may not come out at all,yet give you a feel of it's emission.
So reply with details of the stone size,so as to be able to give an expert opinion.
Wish you well.

Brief Answer:
repeat scan can confirm position of stone.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Cxxxxxxxxxxxr,
There'll not be any problem to urine flow, unless the bladder outlet is blocked.
As urine is flowing freely, that situation is non-existent.
Even if one kidney is totally blocked, urine will flow freely from the other kidney.
The only way to confirm position of stone is to repeat an ultrasound scan.
That can confirm the position of the stone.
There's nothing to feel scared.
Continue to drink about 12-15 glasses fluids daily.
After getting repeat scan report, you may contact me.
Wishing you well.

i am flying ovearseas on the 22nd so am very nervous. sorry dr. thank you
Brief Answer:
Drink plenty of fluids.
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Don't worry.
Most probably the stone may have already flushed out and got expelled.
I can opine that way with conviction, only if you write the size seen on scan.
Drink plenty of fluids.
Wish you well.

all they sent my g.p was comments saying tiny stone found in ureter. my g.p put me on duodart pills to help the stome through. i did read online that duodart may cause weak or very little ejaculation. it is a pill simillar to flow XXXXXXX i will ask for another c.t asap and have another look. are there stones that pass without pain? ive only ever had alittle burning at the tip and nothing else so far. thank you dr
Brief Answer:
Duodart is used routinely. stone expulsion need not cause pain.
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
If the stone size is not reported,it must be very small, and already expelled.
Very small stones don't cause any pain when expelled.
Duodart-like drugs are routinely used in treatment of ureteric stones.
The effect on ejaculation is exactly as you've written.
Continue to drink about 12 glasses fluids daily.
Wish you well.

ok. should i do another c.t scan to see if the stone is still stuck in the ureter or just wait and see? my urine is a white/soft yellow colour. no burning. no pain in the flank or back yet and the urge to urinate has gone. i was urinating every 30 mins to a hour from sunday to wedensday but now not having the urge too. thank you dr.
Brief Answer:
No need for a CT scan.
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxx,
As you've no symptoms,it's most likely expelled.
You may repeat an ultrasound scan-KUB,which is reliable to confirm it's expelled.
A CT scan is needed only if you're symptomatic.
Wish you well.
