What Does My EEG Report Suggest?
Question: Dear Sir/Madam,
I admitted my 3 years (weight 15kg) old son to hospital on 24th Apr'14 due to convulsion (fits) and doctor released him next day after a city scan of brain. Scan report was ok as per doctor. After that local doctor suggested that whenever his fever cross 100f we have to give him paracetamol and 1 and half tablet of Frisium-5 to protect convulsion (fits). As per doctor it was a febrile convulsaion.
I have received his EEG report yesterday. Pls check attached report and suggest what should be my next step. Local doctor suggested to consult with a neurologist pediatrician before start any medicine because it was his first time and till now within 5 months no such incident happened again.
Please guide is there anything serious and he really require any long time treatment right now.

Dear Sir,
Please check now.
Report attached.
Please check now.
Report attached.
Brief Answer:
Seen the report.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back and enclosing the EEG reports.
The EEG shows minor abnormalities and there is no need to worry.
Our diagnosis would still be febrile seizure, and I would agree with your doctor's approach. There is no need to start anti-epileptic drugs at present.
Only if there is a recurrence of seizure without fever, should we start anti-seizure medications for long term.
Best wishes,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
